To attract more Indians to Israel, this middle-Eastern country has eased the visa application process for Indian nationals. As per the relaxed visa regulations, Indians who had secured visas of Australia, Canada, Schengen countries and the US and also have travelled to these countries need less documentation.

The documents these people need to submit are a filled-in visa application form, a valid passport, cover letter with travel information, two photographs (measuring 5.5 cm x 5.5 cm), a copy of the first and last pages of the passport and travellers insurance.

Hassan Madah, director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism, India, was quoted by Financial Express as saying that their country had been partnering on this initiative with their Interior Ministry as well Foreign Affairs Ministry to launch it in India and they were pleased to witness the change taking place for Indians who may want to travel to the Jewish state. He said that he was confident that by relaxing visa requirements, the applications would be processed faster and it would increase the number of Indians wishing to visit their country. Moreover, they were working towards relaxing the group visa process and also to facilitate e-visa processing.

Galit LaRoche Falach, consul at the Consulate General of Israel in Mumbai, said that she was happy with the new visa rules that have been launched for Indian nationals to visit Israel. She said that the State of Israel had introduced for business travellers in September 2017 one-year multiple entry visas and added that the ministries were working together to bring about more changes like these to make the processing quicker and to make it easier for Indians to travel to Israel.

Applications for Israeli visas can be sent to its two Consulate Generals in India, in Bengaluru and Mumbai, apart from its Embassy in Delhi.
