IRCC updates for Express Entry to Canada for April 2017

Three draws were conducted by IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada), which oversees matters related to Canadian immigration, in the month of April 2017. On 5 April 2017, 3,753 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) were issued for applicants with a CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score of 431 and higher. On 12 April 2017, 3,923 ITAs were issued for the applicants with a CRS score of 423 and higher. On 19 April 2017, 3,665 ITAs were issued for the applicants with a CRS score of 415 and higher. In June 2017, Global Talent Stream is scheduled to be launched when a two-week standard will be set for processing visas and work permits for low-risk, highly-skilled foreign workers in certain specified occupations. IRCC is said to have received the highest number of permanent resident applications from India for January and February 2017. The year-end report for the year 2016 revealed that the largest group of invited candidates was IT professionals. Meanwhile, the online application system for the express entry stream will be opened by Nova Scotia Province in the next few weeks. Conditional permanent residence provision is barred by Canada for spouses and partners. In addition, spouses and common-law partners who have been sponsored for immigrating to Canada will no longer have a conditional permanent resident status period.
