Iranian Embassy in Muscat has said that citizens of Oman planning to visit Iran will henceforth get their visas processed within one hour.
Mohammed Toutounchi, Deputy to Iranian Ambassador, was quoted by times of Oman as saying that in order to improve trade ties between Oman and Iran, the Iranian embassy in the country had strengthened processes to grant visas for the country also referred to as Persia via 15 agencies across the Sultanate of Oman.
He said that they that many efforts were initiated to improve trade relations between the two countries, of which making the visa process convenient was one of them. It is said that many Omanis visit Iran. As the Iranian Embassy would now grant a visa within one hour to their country, it would allow Omanis wanting to visit Iran a hassle-free travel, said Toutounchi.
He added that visa processing, which was taking a day or two, would be hastened further with the introduction of this process.
Toutounchi pointed out that Omanis travel to Iran for purposes of tourism and business, besides availing healthcare amenities and on a pilgrimage.
He was of the view was that more jobs could be created for Omanis as a lot of Iranian companies were said to be establishing their facilities in Oman.
Toutounchi said that two Iranian clinics had been opened in Oman and talks are underway to set up a vehicle assembly line by Iran.
