Manitoba has launched International Education Stream offering Canada PR to overseas STEM graduates upon immediate completion of their studies. It is available for overseas STEM graduates who have completed an internship or similar as a part of Master’s or Doctoral program in Manitoba. These students will be permitted to apply for Canada PR upon immediate completion of their studies.
International Education Stream offering Canada PR pathway is available for Bachelors students also provided they possess a job offer. The new scheme has been termed as liberal offering some latest graduates the direct Canada PR pathway. They are also not required to possess a job offer for this, as quoted by the Pie News.
It appears that the program is an effort by Manitoba to be on pace with the successful campaign by Nova Scotia –“Stay in Scotia”. This had offered overseas students a pathway to remain in Canada upon completion of their studies.
Manitoba Immigration and Economic opportunities Assistant Deputy Minister Ben Rempel said that the new initiative by the province is aimed at specific students. It is for those students who altered their study goals to enhance prospects for remaining in Canada, added Rempel.
Ben Rempel said that students were opting for swift programs. These were not necessarily aligned with their career objectives. The students were also remaining in jobs that were actually not enhancing their career aims qualifying for a nomination, elaborated the Minister.
Immigration and Economic opportunities Assistant Deputy Minister for Manitoba further elaborated on the objectives of the new initiative. The province intends that students choose programs that are crucial and relevant to their career pathways. It is also aimed that students successfully find a job to utilize the training, added Rempel.
