Indo-American Senator tops prominent Foreign Policy magazine's list of 50 leading Global Thinkers

Indo-American Senator from California Kamala Harris is listed as the top Global Thinker in the 50 leading Global Thinkers of Foreign Policy magazine. It also includes two more members of the Indo-American community.

Nikki Haley the US Envoy to the United Nations is another Indo-American to have made to the list. It also includes Hasan Minhaj the stand-up comedian. The 50 leading Global Thinkers' list recognizes the amazing range of people that have discovered pathways for exerting tremendous influence. This is often achieved in an innovative manner, as quoted by the Times of India.

The Foreign Policy magazine said that the people who made it to the list are the action makers who defined the year that was 2017. In most of the previous years, the list had 100 individuals while the list for 2017 has 50 individuals.

Indo-American Senator from California Kamala Harris is on the top of the list of 50 leading Global Thinkers. She has been selected for giving a hope to the Democratic party in the era of current US President Trump, said the magazine. Kamala Harris is the only non-white lady member of the US Senate. She is also predicted to be the Democratic Party candidate for the next US Presidential elections.

The two decades of being a prosecutor and her personal bona fides are really commendable said the magazine. She is dedicated to social justice and made bail reform and rights of immigrants the focus in the first year of office. These along with her personal firsts result in her emerging as the appealing, non-male, non-white charismatic presidential candidate for voters who are still smarting from the defeat of Ms. Clinton.
