Indians immigrants in the United Arab Emirates will now benefit as UAE has relaxed its Visa policies. The new rules will permit family members of overseas nationals working in the nation to receive an Expat Visa. This is if the working relative caters to a specific criterion for income.

Previously, overseas workers had to adhere to a fixed list of occupations. This is to qualify for sponsoring their family members.

However, now onwards the only criterion that overseas workers must fulfil to sponsor their members of the family is income. This policy will benefit immigrants in the UAE that includes thousands of Indians.

The new policy has been announced bearing in mind that Indian nationals in the UAE are the largest immigrant group. Roughly 33 million NRI Indians account for almost 30% of the total UAE population. This is as per the Embassy of India in UAE, as quoted by the QRIUS.

The UAE Cabinet has already adopted the resolution to modify the provisions of the law. This is regarding overseas workers in the UAE sponsoring their family members. It will help the government to reaffirm the nation’s position as a land of opportunities and a hub for talents.

The UAE Cabinet issued a statement that the decision intends to enhance the family stability of overseas workers and social unity. It also aims to attract highly skilled workers and maintain a healthy equilibrium between personal and professional lives.

The decision follows studies commissioned by the appropriate authorities of the government. This is to examine and enhance the services offered to immigrants in the UAE. These examined areas such as health and education.

The studies proposed methods that encourage the active participation of family members of immigrants in the job market. This is within the current regulation and policy framework. It would, in turn, be an alternative for hiring fresh overseas workers.
