Ever since Canada Express Entry program started in January this year, thousands have received invitation-to-apply and many have already migrated to Canada. And of all those who migrated under this program, Indians clearly lead.
Out of 775 candidates in one of the draws, 228 are Indians. Philippines stood second with 122 candidates and Pakistan third with 46 candidates.
1. India: 228 candidates
2. Philippines: 122 candidates
3. Pakistan: 46 candidates
4. Ireland: 34 candidates
5. Nigeria: 29 candidates
6. China: 29 candidates
7. Iran: 21 candidates
8. U.K.: 19 candidates
9. Egypt: 18 candidates
10. South Korea: 14 candidates
This comes as a great news for Indian skilled workers willing to migrate to Canada under the program. It is an excellent opportunity that requires a candidate to submit his profile online and qualify for a draw.
The Express Entry system is a new step towards Canadian immigration and has been successful so far. Candidates place their profile in a pool once they meet the basic point-based criteria. Thereupon, their applications are ranked based on their score from 1200 points. The higher the rank, the better chances of getting an invitation-to-apply.
So far Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has conducted eight draws and has invited more than 7000 candidates. It plans to conduct at least 25 draws this year so thousands of skilled workers can be benefited from the scheme.
Apart from Federal program, British Columbia, a Canadian province also started its own Express Entry. The province added a stream known as British Columbia Express Entry to its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
