Premier Daniel Andrews has said that for Indians in Australia Victoria State is most welcoming. He said this during his current visit to India for bilateral talks. He added that the Victoria State is also the most friendly and progressive destination for Indians.
Andrews further elaborated that the Government of Victoria and the citizens value the role of Indian Diaspora in every sphere for creating modern Victoria. Thus there is high respect for Indian culture and people than any other location in Australia, he explained.
Nearly 110,000 Indians visited Australia Victoria State in 2017 informed the Premier, as quoted by the Travelbizmonitor. He said that the government will promote more arrivals of Indians to Melbourne and other destinations in the state. The highest numbers of Indian Australians reside in Victoria than any other part of Australia added Andrews.
The Premier of Victoria said that he intends to utilize this visit to India to promote enhanced collaboration with India for travel and business. This will facilitate to increase the number of arrivals of Indians to Victoria, he explained.
Elaborating on the strategy for India, Andrews said that it is aimed to twice enhance the export of goods to India. It is also targeted to double the partnerships and business engaged in India, he added. Victoria intends to build ties with India in areas of tourism, sports, culture, commerce, and trade said the Premier.
Collaboration in these diverse areas will deliver best results for all stakeholders including Victoria, emphasized the Premier of Victoria. The government of Victoria has drawn a 10 years strategy for India. It envisions enhancing the value of goods exports to India from Victoria to 1 billion $ by 2027.
