Indians received overwhelming 93% of work authorization via H-4 Visa

An overwhelming 93% of the total work authorizations via H-4 visa were received by the Indians as per the latest report of the US Congress on Spouse Visa. Around 1/5th of the H-4 Visa holders who received the work authorization reside in California.

Out of the total H-4 Visa Authorizations Approved, 93% were received by women and men received 7% of these. These statistics have been revealed by autonomous Congressional Research Service of the US Congress. This agency prepares regular reports on issues that are of interest to the lawmakers in the US, as quoted by the Times of India.

Individuals born in India received 93% of the approved applications for H-4 Visa employment. On the other hand, 5% of the approvals for employment authorization were received by Chinese. People from rest of the nations in the world together received remaining 2% of the applications that were approved. The elaborate analysis of the figures was revealed by the US Congress agency in its 9-page report.

126, 853 applications were approved by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services for authorization of employment to H-4 Visa holders as of December 25, 2017. It is inclusive of all the approvals since the rule was implemented in 2015 May. This figure also includes 688 replacement of lost cards, 35, 219 renewals and 90, 946 initial approvals.

US Law does not constraint H-4 visa holders geographically. Approvals of authorization for employment have been offered to non-immigrants with H-4 Visa residing in all 50 US States, Territories, and District of Columbia.

More than 1/5th or 28, 033 approvals were for residents in California. New Jersey and Texas jointly account for another 20%.
