Indian workers have been cautioned regarding UAE visit visa by the Indian Consul General in Dubai and they have been asked to refrain from opting for low paid jobs.
Indian Consul General in Dubai has received several calls from troubled Indian workers recently. More than 2.6 million Indian workers are present in the UAE and a majority of them are employed in blue-collar jobs.
Arabian Business quoted the Indian Consul General in Dubai Vipul as saying that the number of calls from troubled Indian workers is increasing of late. He also added that back home in India several initiatives have been launched to create awareness amongst the workers to not to immigrate for work through the UAE visit visa.
Vipul elaborated by saying that several workers who arrive at the nation with the UAE visit visa have accused that they had been sold these visas by doubtful agents in India. After arriving in UAE they land up in pity jobs and their salaries are too low, added Vipul.
Eventually, these Indian workers do not obtain a full-time employment, run out of cash and end up overstaying and they contact us at this point, said Vipul. We try to offer best possible assistance, added the Indian Consul General in Dubai.
He also advises the workers to opt for the Indian E-migration system that mandates clearance for any of the 18 overseas nations listed there and this includes the UAE. The Indian workers must register in the E-migration system prior to immigrating, added Vipul.
The E-migrate project was launched in 2015 by India. This project intends to curb illegal hiring and dishonest employment practices in order to safeguard the workers.
