988 Indian Tech professionals were hired through fast-track visa processing in Canada between June-September 2017 revealed Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s latest Global Skills Strategy is taking off with huge success even while the US snubs high-tech visas.

Software Engineers, System Analysts, and Computer Programmers are the top 3 worker domains to be benefited by the program. Indian Tech professionals make up almost 50% of the beneficiaries, same as in case of H-1B visas of the US.

The leading data processing company Think Data Works Inc recently hired a Brazilian Software Engineer. This was through the latest fast-track visa process for highly skilled overseas workers. He is one among the 2,000 other overseas workers hired for Canada between June-September 2017. These statistics have been revealed by the IRCC, as quoted by the Times of India.

CEO of Toronto based Think Data Works Inc Bryan Smith said that the process is really quick. In fact, we hired the Tech workers in even less than the 10 day business days specified by the government, he added. Earlier the same high-tech visas process would take several months, elaborated Bryan Smith.

Immigration Minister of Canada said that the fast-track visa program is thriving more than anticipation. It had been suggested by the Canadian business community. They identified the issues and asked for the resolution, added Hussen. Overseas professionals hired through this program can reside in Canada for 3 years and even apply for Canada PR, he explained.

Trudeau has taken several initiatives to accentuate innovation and fast-track visa program is just one among them. The Canadian government is investing hundreds of millions of dollars in supporting Artificial Intelligence and into venture capital. It is collaborating with the private firms that have invested in the tech hubs in Montreal, Vancouver, Ontario, Toronto, and Waterloo.
