Increasing number of Indian job seekers are choosing Canada for job opportunities and not the US. The job searches by Indians are the maximum for tech jobs, revealed the latest survey.
The share of Canada for job searches from India increased to 13% from 6%. This was for the period between July 2018 and August 2016. It has been revealed by the study of Indeed, the popular job site, as quoted by the CIC News.
In the same period, Indian job searchers seeking jobs in the US decreased to 50% from 60%. Canada picked up the majority of the shifting interest. Thus, more and more Indians are now choosing Canada for overseas work opportunities.
The net % point narrowing for comparative search popularity was 17 %. This was the largest swing amongst the assessed nations, said Indeed. The study analyzed overseas job searches across 58 nations for 24 months. The specific focus was job searches that targeted the US and Canada.
The study has also revealed the top 10 job searches from India. These include Data Analyst, Software Engineer, Java Developer, Data Scientist, Web Developer, Software Developer, and Business Analyst. The increasing interest for Canada can prove to be a boon the nation’s tech industry, adds the report.
The Indeed study said that the increase in searches is due to 2 reasons. One is the booming tech sector in Canada. The second is due to the ambiguity over the H-1B Visas that have been made stringent now by the US administration.
Canada meanwhile has also enhanced access to Work Visas for qualified skilled workers. This is through the GSS- Global Skills Strategy and its program GTS – Global Talent Stream.
