India and the UK will discuss MOU for illegal immigrants informed Vijay Gokhale the Foreign Secretary of India. The meeting between the Prime Ministers of both the nations has paved the way for a likely Memorandum of Understanding, added Gokhale.
The MOU for illegal immigrants is under talks added the Foreign Secretary. A meeting between the UK Home Secretary and the Indian Home Minister is likely to be held by end of May said, Gokhale. It is likely that the MOU for illegal immigrants will be discussed at that time, he added, as quoted by the New Indian Express.
The Foreign Secretary of India briefed regarding the discussions held between the Prime Ministers of India and the UK. Both the nations have signed 11 MOUs for enhancing bilateral ties, added Gokhale.
One of the major topics for discussions between the two Prime Ministers was Terrorism said the Foreign Secretary. Theresa May assured that the UK stands firmly with India as a strategic partner on the issue of terrorism. It is prepared to enhance collaboration in the Defense sector, added May.
Narendra Modi termed terrorism, radicalism, and extremism as a growing challenge for India and the UK as well as the entire world. It was agreed by both the PMs that Cyber Security was another area for substantial enhancement of cooperation.
The issue of UK Visas and Work Visa was also discussed in the meeting between the Prime Ministers of India and the UK. They also discussed the issue of economic offenders and diverse consular issues.
The mobility of students and professionals and similar issues were also discussed. Views were also exchanged regarding current multilateral and international issues said, Gokhale.
