Omani tourists to India have increased manifold in the last few months. Compared to a total of 59,000 visitors in 2013, as many as 63,000 people have already visited the India in the last 9 months. The numbers are very fascinating and are bound to increase in the months and years to come.
S. Mukul, Ambassador of India in Muscat, said that "In the first nine months of this year, around 63,000 visas were issued by the Indian Embassy." Speaking to the media on a ship docked at Port Sultan Quboos, he added that tourism and people-to-people connection between India and Oman is fast growing and is expected to improve further.
The ambassador said that the partnership between two countries is not limited only to exchange tourism, but also includes frequent exchange visits between Indian and Omani Officials.
Omani Minister for Foreign Affairs Yousuf Bin Alawi was apparently the first foreign minister to visit India after formation of a new government. The visit signifies the growing relationship between India and Oman.
