Will the Canada PR chances of an applicant through Express entry be enhanced through extra points if they include their spouse on the profile for Express entry? The answer to this is it will depend on the qualifications of the spouse. If a person applies with the spouse, they can obtain maximum 40 points for the spousal skills.
The spouse can incur maximum 40 points to your CRS scores. Below are the three areas that can offer you the extra points for spousal qualifications:
Proficiency in Language
The spouse can incur maximum 20 points to your profile for proficiency in either French or English. For this, they will have to take an accredited test for language within past 2 years, as quoted by the CIC News. The maximum number of points for this factor will be incurred to you if your spouse scores equivalent of CLB level 9 i.e. Language Benchmark of Canada.
The below three tests will be acceptable for the Express entry purposes:
Education Level
You can obtain maximum 10 points for the education level of the spouse. For this, you will have to obtain the assessment for educational credentials – ECA. This is a document that states the value of their overseas credentials in Canada. If the education level is on par with a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Canada, then it will incur the maximum points.
Work Experience in Canada
The skilled work experience of your spouse in Canada can incur extra points for your CRS scores.
It is advisable to include your spouse in the Express entry profile to enhance Canada PR chances if they can incur high points based on the above-stated factors.
