The immigrants in Texas are going through a disappointment presently as their demand for a birth certificate for their children has been denied by the judiciary of the state. The story started when the state decided that children born to illegal immigrants will not be entitled to get a birth certificate issued by the government.
To deal with this, the parents of 23 children took a step forward. They claim that the state of Texas has denied their basic right of acquiring a birth certificate for their children. This claim has been made based on the Fourteenth Amendment that gives the right to every child born in the country to be called an American.
Lost despite support
All this happened in the month of June, despite this claim being supported by the American constitution, the parents lost their case because of being aliens and the status continued to effect their children. Therefore it has been declared that they will remain this way, in spite of documented evidence in the form of the fourteenth amendment.
On the other hand, the parents of these children do not call themselves illegal immigrants. Instead, they like to be known as Friends of the Nation. They are complaining that, with the rejection of this appeal of theirs, the children are being deprived of not one but many benefits related to health, education and other crucial benefits.
A significant change
The judgment is being considered as a turning point in American history that will make sure that official identification of every citizen is verified before issuing important documents like the birth certificate to their children. The issuance should be done based on a reliable identification mechanism that will not let things go wrong.
