ICT immigrant professionals in the Ontario Express Entry Stream are receiving priority by Ontario. This is in accordance with the latest strategy that has been adopted by the Ontario province from June 26, 2017, for the Information and Communications Technology Sector.
This updating of the Immigrant Nominee program of Ontario for ICT immigrant professionals is related to the stream of Human Capital Priorities that is allied with the National Express entry scheme of Canada.
Prior to this new strategy of Ontario for ICT immigrant professionals, Ontario was offering notice of interest only to applicants in the Express entry pool who scored at least 400 CRS points. However, the latest strategy now permits the Ontario government to offer notice of interest to applicants even if their score is less than 400 CRS points but who satisfy all the criterions specified by the stream of Human Capital Priorities and possess work experience in a particular occupation specified by the Immigrant Nominee program of Ontario.
The latest strategy of Ontario for ICT immigrant professionals will permit the immigrant program to cater to demands of the labor market and the economy of the province for development, as quoted by the CIC News.
As per the report of the Information and Communications Technology Council that was published in 2016, it was projected that fresh 182, 000 ICT immigrant professionals will be required by Canada by the year 2019 and the maximum demand will be by the Ontario province. Information and Communications Technology Council is a think tank that is not-for –profit and funded by the public.
Ontario province leads in Canada in the ICT sector and the province had made a contribution of 31.6 billion dollars to the total ICT output in Canada for 2015 itself.
