A Hyderabad Indigo employee has found to be a part of the illegal immigration racket by the Cyberabad Police. The travel agents who ran this racket started forging the documents around 6 months back. They have sent a minimum of 10 individuals overseas according to the investigation of the police.
The airline employee has also been arrested and was at the arrival lounge on duty that day. However, he was spotted by his superiors roaming at the departure counter with a computer and with no authorization.
One of the senior Police officers from Cyberabad informed that travel agents from Kadapa ran the organized crime. They come to the city take accommodation and settle things. This is to ensure that the individual is successfully sent abroad as a part of the illegal immigration racket. They do this involving staff of private airlines, added the officer.
An individual who intends to work in the Gulf nations must get a clearance from the Protector of Emigrants. The Centre first authenticates the employer. It then permits the nationals to be employed there, as quoted by the Deccan Chronicle.
The officer explained that this is verified by the immigration department prior to departure. However, the airline through which the individual takes up the journey also needs to check this, he added.
Shaikh Zubair a travel agent in Hyderabad tried to send people overseas. But Mohammed Ibrahim denied journey to many passengers for not having clearance from POE. He was at the departure counter at that time.
Zubair gave his number to a passenger 6 months ago. He asked the passenger to inform the agent to make a call for learning the reasons for disapproval. Zubair trapped Ibrahim at that time and enticed him with cash for permitting passengers to take up the journey.
