Canada Immigration has been chosen by Vikram Rangnekar a Techie and Startup co-founder born in India by changing his US Dreams. He is not alone and several Indian Techies are moving to Canada owing to H-1B woes. Even as the US administration led by Trump is enhancing the pressure on immigrants, several Indian IT and other professionals are having similar thoughts. They plan to quit the US and opt for Canada immigration.

Rangnekar said that in his opinion, the game for Masters H-1B pathway to Green card is over. It was utilized by several Indians to build a career and life in the US. The Green card wait times are exceeding 20 years now. This is as good as never, added the Indian professional who chose Canada immigration.

The protectionist stand taken by Trump has left the Indian working in the US insecure and frightened. Whereas the US is enhancing visa scrutiny, Canadian immigration policies are only getting friendlier.

The target for economic class visas for skilled workers by Canada was enhanced to 172, 500 from 160, 600 between 2016 and 2017. This category is used most by Indian immigrants, as quoted by the MSN.

Global Skills Strategy Program was announced by the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau in 2017. This is a fast-track process for highly skilled Tech professionals. It processes their Canada Work Visa applications within 14 days.

The Express entry program of Canada accepts highly skilled global talents. These include Medical, Engineering, Software Development and other academic professions. They can immigrate to Canada through Express entry within 6 months even if they do not have a job.

Many H-1B professionals in the US will be perfect candidates for Canadian Express entry. The reason is that they will be excelling in several parameters of the Express entry CRS rankings. At present far more highly skilled professionals are accepted by Canada than the US. It offered 1 Canada PR for a skilled worker for every 409 residents in Canada in 2016. This is 6 times exceeding per capita than that of the US.
