US H-1B Visa holders and their spouses have several Canada PR options. This can be renewed after 5 years and authorizes the holders to reside and work anywhere in Canada. Below are some of the important Canada PR options for the H-1B Visa holders and their spouses:
Express entry system
This is the economic immigration program of the Federal Canadian government. Candidates can enter this through any one of the 3 classes – National Skilled Worker category, National Skilled Trades category, and Experience Class Canada.
US H-1B visa holders will have distinct lead through the Express entry system. This is because of their skilled work experience, advanced education, and proficiency in the English language. Express entry ranks profiles according to their scores based on human capital. These include work experience, education, age, and language proficiency. The candidates can also receive points for credentials of their spouse, as quoted by the CIC News.
Indians are the most successful through the immigration system of Canada. They top the list of nationals that received ITAs for Canada PR through both Express entry system and Ontario PNP.
Provincial nomination programs
PNPs are a fast-track pathway for obtaining PR in Canada. These programs permit territories and provinces in Canada to nominate overseas workers. This is based on their local job market needs. Several provinces also have enhanced streams of PNP associated with the Express entry. These offer a nomination from the province and 600 extra points for their CRS score.
Work visas
Another option for arriving in Canada is through the provisional Work visas. This pathway is utilized by more than 300, 000 overseas workers annually. Overseas workers have provisional work visa options through Provisional Overseas Worker Program and Global Mobility Program.
