The five-pound e-mail charge introduced by the UK Home Office is nothing but a money making scheme of the UK Government headed by Theresa May, said SNP candidate for Ross, Skye, and Lochaber Ian Blackford. He has been involved earlier in several tiffs with the Home Office and said that the people have been outraged by this scheme, as quoted by The National Scot.
Blackford said that when he heard about this it was his view that it is an e-mail scam and it appears to be nothing more than that. It has been designed only with the intention of making money from the applicants who in many cases are already shelling out thousands of pounds to keep their families united in the UK by securing a visa, elaborated Ian Blackford.
Blackford further explained that the initiative is disgraceful and further demonstrates that the authority of immigration policies of Scotland must rest with the Government of Scotland itself.
SNP candidate in Caithness, Sutherland, and Easter Ross Dr. Paul Monaghan has said that any other option apart from control of immigration and visa lying with Government of Scotland is not acceptable. This will ensure that fair and responsible treatment is given to people, added Dr. Paul Monaghan who has assisted people earlier too in instances of immigration issues.
The UK Government headed by Theresa May is increasing the costs of securing a visa to the UK. The Department of Home Office in the UK has announced that applicants who intend contact the Home Office by e-mail will have to shell out 5 pounds.
