If you have not received an ITA through Express entry you can always explore the Canada Provincial Nominee Program for Canadian immigration. It is one of the most preferred alternatives for overseas immigrants in case they do not receive ITA through the Express entry program.

Canada Provincial Nominee Program is a way by which provinces in Canada choose the best overseas immigrant workers for themselves. It operates in harmony with the national government of Canada. Some of the popular Canada Provincial Nominee Program includes Ontario, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and British Columbia.

The application process and eligibility criterions vary through each Canada Provincial Nominee Program. Ontario, for instance, requires that the candidate must have a minimum of 400 points in Comprehensive Ranking System. An annual quota is allotted for every province to nominate immigrant applicants. Any province cannot exceed the allocated quota for that year, as quoted by the Visasavenue.

Diverse streams are present in each Canada Provincial Nominee Program for inviting applicants for the nomination. The majority of the provinces have a stream aligned with the federal Express entry program. Through this stream, the provinces gain access to the candidates who are already registered in the Express entry pool. The provinces notify the candidates through these streams to apply for the PNP.

Thus candidates who have already registered themselves in the Express entry program have an additional advantage. An applicant must create an express entry profile for having an account in Express entry stream pool.

Candidates who apply for a Canada Provincial Nominee Program and receive the nomination receive extra 600 points in the Express entry pool. The current qualifying CRS score in Express entry is between 400-450 points. Thus candidates who receive the 600 points from a PNP will obviously receive an ITA for Canada PR.

Besides candidates who apply for other streams of the PNPs such as the employer driven stream or Occupation in demand stream, get direct selection for Canada PR. Once the applicant receives a direct nomination from a PNP, the applicant can apply with the IRCC for Canada PR through the same.

Upon receiving the application, the IRCC will conduct usual checks such as the character and medical certifications. Thus for candidates who are not receiving an ITA through Express entry draws, Canada Provincial Nominee Program is a crucial alternative. Many candidates are opting for the PNPs to apply and receive the Canada PR.
