EU nationals are declaring openly that they are emigrating UK due to Brexit and what the UK media termed as Brexodus appears to be turning in to reality. A German national Martin Seeleib-Kaiser who has returned Germany this year said that he felt more and more unwelcome and took the decision of emigrating UK due to Brexit.
Martin said that the chief reason for accepting the offer to teach at the University of Oxford was the rights associated with the citizenship of the EU. On the other hand, the political debate on benefit tourism made him feel unwelcome. This was really frustrating even after having contributed to the higher education industry in the UK for 10 years, he added.
The decision by the UK electorates to exit the EU was the final cause for the decision to quit the UK, explained Martin Seeleib-Kaiser.
A national of Ireland Una who returned to her nation in 2016 from the UK said that it was really bothering to line up at the borders for hours to cross it. Una said that she returned home after having studied and worked at the NHS. However, the original plan was to move to the UK and buy a home with the savings, as quoted by the Guardian.
The grave low funding of the NHS, junior Doctor’s strike and growing anti-EU sentiment resulted in my plans going haywire. The final reason for emigrating the UK was the view expressed by the UK Health Secretary. It clearly implied that EU Doctors would not be accepted in the NHS.
A Poland national Krzysztof is also one among the several hundred thousands of EU nationals who are returning to their home nations in the wake of Brexit. It is really shameful that after having resided in a nation for a decade you are asked to go out. The UK government in place of creating awareness regarding advantages of immigration is using them as an alibi to cover up its incompetence, he added.
