EU is the first priority for post-Brexit trade deal says, Malcolm Turnbull

Malcolm Turnbull the Prime Minister of Australia has said that EU is the first priority for Australia to secure a post-Brexit trade deal. He also added that Australia is also willing to secure a trade deal with the UK as soon as it exits the EU. These statements were given by Malcolm Turnbull after his meeting at Downing Street with Theresa May. The Prime Ministers of the UK and Australia addressed a joint press conference after this meeting. They expressed eagerness to finalize post-Brexit trade deals amongst both the nations. Speaking at the joint press conference in the presence of Theresa May Turnbull said that Australia has always been keen for free trade deals globally. This was the reason for the prosperity of Australia, added the Prime Minister of Australia, as quoted by The Guardian. Malcolm Turnbull further elaborated that Australia was looking forward to the post-Brexit trade deal with the EU. He then added that Australia would also be keen to sign a post-Brexit trade deal with the UK once it formalizes its exit from the EU. The Prime Minister of Australia said that Australia is keen to formalize the trade deals at the earliest. He said this when asked regarding how quickly he expected to have trade deals with the EU and the UK. The UK will not be able to sign trade deals independently until the exit from the EU is formalized in 2019 March. However, the UK Ministers will be able to lay a foundation for the preliminary details of the trade deals.
