EU

The European Union has declared improved and accessible visa policy aimed at making them user-friendly. Millions of overseas travelers arrive at the EU every year through the Schengen visa. The EU Visa policy will be altered positively by amending Visa Code the universal visa for all EU nations. This is aimed at offering optimum comfort to the travelers.

Below are the key changes that will be made effective to the EU Visa policy:

Quicker and easy

The new visa rules will permit visitors to apply for EU visa 6 months in advance. As of now, the EU commission permits overseas travelers to apply for a visa only 3 months earlier, as quoted by the Visa Reporter.

The enhanced validity of manifold entry visas

Five years multiple entry visas will be granted to regular travelers and member nations that are not included in the EU Commission.

Small term Visa at borders

It has been proposed to offer 7 days small term visas at the borders as per the reformed EU visa regime. This will, however, be available only to the member EU nations.

Enhanced Visa tariff

The Visa tariff will be enhanced to 80 € from the existing 60 € owing to security reasons. The visa fee had not been increased by the EU after 2006 and was definitely required. This levy is aimed at assisting EU nations to preserve EU personnel across the world. It will also be used for the betterment of technology, updating software, and enhanced security system.

The EU has also devised tougher rules for member nations. They will face dire consequences if they are unable to address the issue of illegal immigrants and curb their numbers. EU could even revoke its treaty with such member nations.
