Thailand is a preferred destination not only for fun-seeking tourists but also for professionals seeking career opportunities. To enter Thailand, foreign citizens must obtain an Entry Visa.
There are many laws and regulations around Work Permits and Tourist Visas in Thailand. These laws are frequently revised by the Immigration Bureau.
Tourists who wish to travel to Thailand must obtain a Tourist Visa before doing so. They can apply for it through the Royal Thai Embassy or through their local consulate. A standard Tourist Visa is generally granted for a period of 60 days. It may, however, be extended for another 30 days.
People from Hong Kong and 42 other countries (which have a mutual agreement with Thailand) can enter the country without a Visa. Such people can stay in Thailand for up to 30 days per visit. However, they cannot stay in Thailand for more than 90 days in a six month period.
People who wish to work in Thailand need to obtain a non-immigrant-B-Visa. People who wish to come to Thailand to conduct business also need to get the same visa. This can also be obtained through the Royal Thai Embassy or the local consulate.
This Visa can be of different types. You may obtain a single entry visa with a validity of 30 days. You may also get a multiple entry visa with a validity of 1 year. However, the maximum stay on this visa is 90 days.
There are other Visas too which may allow you to stay in Thailand on the basis of marriage or diplomatic status.
