UK government will be funding 1.2 million pounds fund for ‘Experience England’ project to attract Indian tourists. This will be given to the London & Partners the promotional agency of the London mayor. The funds will be diverted from the 40 million pounds fund Visit England that is designed to ensure that the UK remains spirited in the fast-growing tourism sector.
For the first time ever, three of the largest UK cities have collaborated to increasingly attract Indian tourists. This is a part of the fresh tourism drive. The 3 cities Birmingham, Manchester, and London will collaborate through Experience England project, as quoted by the Travelbizmonitor.
The joint initiative by 3 of the largest UK cities is aimed to promote the best of the UK Tourism. This is with respect to the 3 of the fastest growing global markets – India, Gulf Cooperation Council, and China.
The recent report London Tourism Vision has revealed that Indian tourists to the UK capital are expected to enhance by 90% by 2025. In the same period, the visitor spends by the Indian travelers is expected to grow by 180%. India, Gulf Cooperation Council - GCC, and China are predicted to be amongst the fastest growing global tourism markets as per the report by the L&P.
The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said that London has 10 most renowned tourist attractions in the UK. The city proudly welcomes millions of tourists annually. We are committed to collaborating with other regions and cities in the UK to utilize the reputation of the capital to enhance tourism across the country, added Khan. London welcomed 273,000 Indian tourists in 2016 which was an increase of 16% over 2011.
