Dubai’s first integrated residence visa processing and medical fitness centre was opened in the DHCC (Dubai Health Care City). It would reportedly cater to 8,000 residents.
Gulf News quotes officials as saying on 4 December that the free zone had partnered with the DHA (Dubai Health Authority) and the GDRFA (General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs) and would be processing 100 applications each day.
Major-General Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, the GDRFA-Dubai’s director-general, said that setting up such external centres is in accordance with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE’s Vice-President and Prime Minister.
He said that this imitative would elevate government services of this emirate to international standards.
Located in the Ibn Sina building at the DHCC, the centre will be open to public from 8 am to 3 pm.
Ramadan Al Beloushi, CEO of the DHCR (Dubai Health Care Regulatory) said that it would perform tests for medical fitness and issue residence visas with a swift turnaround time.
He added that they had integrated all services including a typing centre too.
