Dos and don’ts while applying for a Work Visa abroad

Much care must be taken while applying for a work visa abroad. The choice of the immigration agents can sometimes be very critical for your overseas dreams.

 

Nurses from Telugu states are landing in Saudi Arabia jail owing to their fake experience certificates. While verifying the certificates of work experiences of the nurses, authorities in Saudi Arabia found that these were forged. This includes one nurse form Bowenpally.

 

The authorities have said that applicants for work visa must take care while filing their documents. The nurses, on the other hand, are blaming the recruitment agents. The Ministry of External Affairs has revealed that many of these nurses are suffering in prison as the investigation is incomplete.

 

It has been found by the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health that recruitment agents based in New Delhi have given the fake certificates for work experience. These have sub-agents in Kerala and Hyderabad. This was done to enhance their prospects for hiring and demonstrate more number of years of work experience, added the Ministry.

 

The nurses who have been caught are charged with forgery and lodged in jails across Saudi Arabia. Even though some nurses were found to be blameless, the Ministry chose to deport them by terminating their services. A nurse from Secunderabad’s Bowenpally was released only after she completed the sentence, as quoted by the Times of India.

 

Dr. Ramesh Reddy Medical Education Director of Telangana said that many nurses go abroad upon completion of their degree in Nursing to the Gulf or US. As they lack practical instruction, they get lured by fake agents and produce forged work experience certificates.

 

Sometimes these nurses also get duped in terms of their pay packages. To avoid these scenarios, the nurses must avoid a non-registered recruitment agency, said Mr. Reddy. Only those recruitment agents that are authorized by the External Affairs Ministry of India must be chosen by the nurses.

 

While applying for a work visa abroad, only the authentic work experience certificates must be furnished. The immigrant aspirant nurses must also get information from their seniors who have already immigrated overseas. They can thus verify the credibility of the recruitment agent and the authenticity of the employer, said Dr. Ramesh Reddy.
