December 20 Express entry draw has offered Canada PR invites to 2, 750 immigrant applicants. This was revealed by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. The threshold score in Comprehensive Ranking System for this draw was 446.
The 2, 750 immigrant applicants who have received Canada PR invites have 90 days to submit their application. They can also include their family members in this. The threshold CRS score for this draw was 6 points lesser over the last draw. The previous draw was held on 6 December with threshold CRS score of 452.
In keeping with the tradition of last few draws, IRCC utilized the option of tiebreaker even in this draw. This means that only select candidates with a score of CRS 446 received the ITA. These candidates had entered the Express entry pool before the time and date fixed by IRCC. For the December 20 draw, the time was 14. 56. 53 UTC and the date was 2 October 2017.
The fresh draw also brings the total number of Express entry draw for 2017 to 80. Also, the number of ITAs offered through these draws has reached 86, 023. The draw held on December 20 was preceded by 4 draws that were held in November in its first 3 weeks.
These draws were held after multi-year plan for immigration was announced by the Government of Canada. As a result, the number of PRs that will be offered through express entry system will increase by 20%. This will be in the period 2018-2020, as quoted by the CIC News. Owing to the increased targets for offering ITAs, it is projected that the threshold CRS scores will decrease for the upcoming draws.
