New EE draw lowers CRS to 438 for Canada PR invitations

The latest Express Entry draw held on 30 January lowered the minimum CRS for Canada PR invitations to 438. The 3, 350 ITAs offered in the latest draw brings the total for January 2019 to 11, 150. This is the highest number of Canada PR invitations offered in January after EE was launched in 2015.

The Comprehensive Ranking System minimum score in the latest draw was 438. This is a 5 points decrease over the earlier draw held on 23 January. It was also the lowest CRS minimum score for an all program invitation round in EE after 4 October 2017.

A gap of 1 week was present between the new draw and the previous draw. This explains the decrease in CRS. Less time duration implies the pool of candidates has less time for refreshing with candidates with higher scores.

The policy of breaking tie was implemented by IRCC in the 30 January draw, as quoted by the CIC News. The time and date were 05:00:46 UTC and 26 April 2018. So all candidates whose scores were higher than 438 received Canada PR invitations. Also, those who scored 438 and submitted their profiles prior to the mentioned time and date also obtained the ITAs.

Y-Axis Immigration Expert Vasanta Jaganatan said that IRCC is delving deeper into the pool of Express Entry. This is to get the talents lower than the CRS minimum witnessed in 2018. The latest draw reflects this, added the Expert.
