The Government of India has said that it is optimistic that the contribution of IT firms in India to the economy of the US and successful bilateral relations between both the nations will be considered by the US administration while reviewing the H1-B visas.
Aruna Sundararajan the IT Secretary has said that the fears that are being expressed regarding H1-B visas are too early as mere a review has been initiated by the US administration. There is no decision as such taken by the US to reduce the percentage of work authorizations to the IT firms in India, added Ms. Sundararajan.
She added that the Government of India is working closely with the US administration, quotes Business Standard. The bilateral relations and value proposition between both the nations are renowned and we hope that the review of the visa regime will be based on these aspects too, elaborated Ms. Sundararajan.
Even the IT firms and businesses in both India and the US are optimistic that the reviews of the H1-B visas will also consider the successful bilateral ties between both the nations. Of late the sense of protectionism is growing across diverse markets that include the US and demands for retaining the jobs for local talents and raising the standards for overseas workers are being made.
The IT firms in India are now looking forward to increasing the workforce of the local talents in the US in response to the proposals for toughening the visa regime for overseas workers. US accounts for nearly 60% of the total IT export revenues of India.
