The UK Home Office has kick-started 2019 with many changes to the UK immigration rules. These rules are effective from 10th January 2019 and will impact entrepreneurs and investors.
Here are some of the changes that you can see in 2109:
Architects will now be able to apply for the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) Visa. Professionals in the below fields can also apply for this visa:
Architects who apply for this visa should be endorsed by the Royal Institute of British Architects. They should also be endorsed by the Arts Council England.
The yearly quota for this visa has been capped at 2,000.
Applicants in the field of Digital Technology should be endorsed by Tech Nation. These applicants will no longer need to submit hard copies as supporting evidence to the Home Office.
The UK Home Office will introduce a new Innovator Visa. This will replace the currently existing Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa. However, the requirements of this new Visa are yet to be announced.
In the spring of 2019, the UK will launch a new Startup Visa. This Visa would be aimed at talented foreign entrepreneurs who wish to set up their businesses in the UK. Applicants would need to be endorsed by a higher education institute or business in the UK.
The current Tier 1 Investor Visa is being reviewed. It is, however, open to new applications. It is likely that the eligibility requirements for this Visa may be changed, as per the Cambridge Network.
