UK The new visa rules introduced by U.K for students has put them in an upbeat mood. The rule allows students to stay for two years after graduation. The eligible students can now work or look for work in any career or position of their choice for two years after completing their graduation. They can look for work under any skill level. The new scheme is expected to come into effect for the 2020/21 intake of students to the university. This two-year post-study work visa was earlier scrapped in 2012 and is being renewed now. All international students will now be eligible for this ‘Graduate’ option. Students of STEM subjects can gain valuable work experience under this scheme. The move was welcomed by Indian students who accounted for more than 22,000 in June of this year. The announcement of the work option follows the implementation of a fast-track visa option for scientists and PhD students to use the skilled work visa route. To be eligible for this program students must be enrolled at universities that take care to follow immigration rules for admission. Another added attraction is the duration of the master’s program is only one-year compared to two years in other countries. Some of the students here opt to go back to the U.K to pursue another study program. They can make use of additional benefits like 25% alumni discount and avail another chance for searching for a job here. The U.K government hopes the new scheme will help the economy and make the country a preferred destination for international students.
