Canadian immigration Here are a few questions related to Canadian immigration as clarified by the experts:
  • Is a Cameroon National with English and French language proficiency eligible to receive extra points for proficiency in the French language in the CRS ranking of Express entry?
A.Candidates in the Express entry pool who have proven proficiency in the French language are eligible to receive extra points in the CRS. This is effective from June 6, 2017. Nevertheless, it must be noted that in order to obtain the extra points the candidates must appear for the Test for Evaluation of French language – TEF.
  • A national of Argentina intends to visit family in Canada and he needs a visa for the Canadian immigration. After arriving in Canada and departing can he arrive in Canada again without applying for the visa?
A. As per the directive of the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada issued to its officers, the standard now is the Multiple-entry visa and every Single-entry visa requires an explanation.  Thus in the absence of any specific reason supporting Single-entry visa, the officer would only consider a Multiple-entry visa. The officer takes the decision in this scenario, as quoted by the CIC News.
  • Will IRCC conduct one more round of invitations to Grandparent and Parent Program in 2017
A. There is a possibility that IRCC may hold one more round of invitations for the Grandparent and Parent Program before 2017 ends in the coming months. In June it was revealed by one of the IRCC representatives that the department may conduct one more such round accepting applications for Canadian immigration through the Grandparent and Parent Program. This was because the target quota of 10,000 sponsorships was not exhausted.
