The Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau has said that the Canadian immigration system will remain immigrant-friendly even as the international community is debating over the controversial travel ban of Donald Trump.
Addressing a press conference in Ottawa to conclude the sitting of the Parliament Justin Trudeau said that the officials of the government of Canada have held several deliberations with the US government regarding safeguarding the rights of Canadians owing to stringent immigration policies of the US.
Elaborating on the domestic Canadian immigration system Trudeau said that the citizens of Canada perceive immigration as an overall positive phenomenon and Canada does not need to have concessions to security for creating resilient and stronger community, as quoted by the CBC CA.
Trudeau said that he will continue to uphold the values of the Canadian immigration system irrespective of the destination in the globe he is present whether it be Hamburg or Washington. Canada accepts immigrants from all over the world, has bilingual official language system with hundreds of other languages, its people practice diverse faiths and represent diverse cultures, added the Prime Minister of Canada.
Canada’s identity and heritage have multi-ethnicity as its core and Canadians realize that the diversity is the strength of the nation, said Trudeau. Old problems have received innovative solutions and fresh perspectives have resulted from the multicultural tradition of Canada, added Justin Trudeau.
Making note of the fact that the nation is celebrating its 150th Confederation anniversary and Charter of Freedoms and Rights’ 35th anniversary the Prime Minister of Canada said that these landmarks remind us of the core values that unite the nationals of Canada – Inclusion, openness and great respect for diversity.
