Canada’s western Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba provinces in West Canada are increasingly accepting more number of overseas migrant workers. These provinces are very active through their Provincial Nominee Programs of late and more than 2,500 migrant workers have either been offered an ITA or have submitted a provincial nomination certificate application, as quoted by the CIC News. Saskatchewan commenced two of its renowned immigration streams and accepted more than 1,200 applications from skilled overseas migrant workers that were inclusive of 600 applications from candidates in the Canada express entry pool. A total of 401 skilled migrant workers in Manitoba and overseas were offered the ITA on May 30 for a provincial nomination. Additional 204 skilled workers were offered the ITA on June 16. The Express entry sub-category for international skilled workers exhausted its intake levels of 600 applications on May 24. This sub-category had opened for the first time in last 90 days. An employment offer is not required for applying to this sub-category. The Occupations sub-category in-demand for the International Skilled Workers received 600 applications upon opening on June 12. This sub-category of Saskatchewan’s immigrant nominee program is a pathway for overseas skilled migrants to receive a Canada PR for those who qualify under any of the 17 jobs listed as in demand in the province. In the last one month, British Columbia has offered an ITA to 711 immigrant workers and degree holders in the two draw that it held on June 8 and May 25. The immigrant nominee program of Alberta has a yearly intake of 5,500 applications and already 2,850 nomination certificates have been offered by Alberta by June 19. Candidates who receive the nomination certificate are eligible to apply for the Canada PR.
