India has captured the global attention in the last few months like never before - from taking top positions at Silicon Valley to sending the Mangalyaan to the Mars Orbit, and winning the Nobel Peace Prize - we have literally hijacked the world news, of course for all good reasons.
Now, it's another Indian who makes it to the news - Nadir Patel. He is an Indian born Canadian appointed as the new Canadian envoy to India. He hails from Gujarat, and is just 44 years old. Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird and International Trade Minister Ed Fast, on Friday announced appointment of Nadir to the key position.
India's one of the leading news network, Zee News quotes the ministers saying, "We are pleased to announce the appointment of Nadir Patel as Canada`s new High Commissioner in the Republic of India."
Ministers further added that, "Patel brings a wealth of experience and will strengthen even further the Canada- India relationship, including on bilateral trade and international security."
Nadir holds an MBA from New York University and London School of Economics and Political Science and HEC Paris in 2009. He worked as consul-general in Shanghai, deputy minister for corporate planning, finance and information technology, and chief financial officer at Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada.
