Express entry’s CRS point’s requirement for receiving an ITA reached an all-time low of 423 points in the latest draw. Candidates in the pool with a score of 423 or more points have been issued an Invitation to apply for a permanent residency in Canada in the draw held on 12th April 2017. This is the fifth instance in 2017 wherein the CRS point’s threshold has reached an all-time low score.
The Express entry draw is also the largest in terms of number of ITAs issued offering a total of 3, 923 ITAs to applicants. This makes it the largest single draw offering the highest number of ITAs in a single draw so far, quotes CIC News.
The month of April has followed the trend that was initiated in the beginning of this year holding two consecutive draws week after week and offering a total of 7, 676 ITAs for this month. A total of 32, 308 ITAs have been issued so far in 2017.
While the CRS point’s requirement has reached 423 from 468, in the month of December 2016, the CRS point’s requirement was as high as 497 points.
This year has been remarkable in the history of Canadian immigration where in Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada has not only increased the number of ITAs issued, it has also decreased the threshold for CRS points.
Attorney David Cohen has said that the message of IRCC must be quite conspicuous and loud to the aspiring candidates interested to create an Express entry profile as well as to the existing candidates in the pool. The message is that 2017 is a groundbreaking year for the immigration system in Canada and this year could well be the right time to materialize dreams for Canadian immigration, explained Cohen.
It is planned by the IRCC to process the applications within 180 days and in the majority of the cases this has also turned out to be true. As a result, most of the candidates who have received the ITA and their eligible accompanying family members could, in fact, look forward to living and working in Canada by the end of 2017.
