Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada has set a new record for low CRS point’s eligibility for the Express entry scheme to offer an invitation to apply for a permanent residency in Canada. The latest draw that was held on April 5 offered Invitation to Apply to applicants who had secured at least 431 Comprehensive Ranking System points or more.
Invitation to apply was offered to 3, 753 candidates in the latest express entry draw, quotes CIC News.
The earlier record for low Comprehensive Ranking System points was set in the draw held on March 1, 2017, where in applicants with 434 or more points were offered the Invitation to Apply.
In the meanwhile, another Express entry was held that had CRS point’s requirement of 441 points and it was announced by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada that certain modifications would be made effective to the CRS from June 6, 2017, onwards.
The decrease in CRS point’s eligibility implies that diverse range of candidates will be able to submit their applications for Canadian PR. The applicants can also be accompanied by their family members to Canada if they satisfy the eligibility criterions. Though it may appear that the decrease in qualifying points is marginal, it implies that a far more enhanced range of candidates are now able to submit their applications.
The draw held on April 5 is the first draw for the second quarter of 2017. This was preceded by an extraordinary first quarter that witnessed a phenomenal increase in the number of ITAs that were issued ever since the Express entry scheme was launched in 2015.
Commenting on the continuing trend of decrease in CRS point’s requirement, Attorney David Cohen said that CRS point’s requirement could further decrease as the 2017 year progresses in case the size of the draws continues to remain large.
He elaborated that there is a close relationship between the decrease in CRS point’s requirement and large size of the Express entry draws. In the second quarter of this year and later, more number of ITAs could be offered, said the Attorney.
