Canada Student visas processing will be streamlined by the Government. This will offer enhanced opportunities to qualified overseas students to study in Canadian post-secondary institutions. Certain alterations will be made to the process of Canada student visas applications.
The active Student Partnership Program in India will be replaced by the Student Direct Stream from June 2018. This will assist students from India as well as those from the Philippines, China, and Vietnam, as quoted by the Visa Reporter.
As of now, Student Partnership Program in India is limited to overseas students who intend to study in one of the forty post-secondary institutions in Canada.
Student Direct Stream will be open to all overseas students who intend to seek a career in Canadian Designated Learning Institutions. These can be managed by both private-post-secondary institutions and public funds.
Quick and easy services to overseas students are planned to be offered by the Student Direct Stream. It will be a uniform program for the 4 Asian nations. Other nations will also be ultimately included in the SDS.
The SDS will have expanded reach both in terms of numbers of students and numbers of institutions. The visa processing for highly talented overseas students will be quick. These also represent a crucial pool of prospective Canada PR holders. The Canada Student visas applications under SDS will be processed within 45 days.
Overseas students must offer evidence of being accepted by a qualified post-secondary DLI in Canada for participating in SDS. Additionally, they also have to make payment of their initial year tuition fees. They also need to get a 10,000 $ worth Guaranteed Investment Certificate from a financial institution. This must be approved by the IRCC for offering this service.
