Manitoba launches two updated Canada PR pathways via BIS

Manitoba has launched two updated Canada PR pathways through the new Business Investor Stream. Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Business stream has now been replaced by the new Business Investor Stream. It is no more accepting the EOIs. The stream will reopen at the beginning of 2018 after the changes have been implemented.

The new BIS stream has two updated Canada PR pathways for immigration to Manitoba. The first is Entrepreneur category and the second is the Farm Investor category. The new stream also eliminates the $ 100, 000 deposit requirement that had to be made with the government of Manitoba.

Entrepreneur category is for applicants who intend to open a business in Manitoba. They are initially offered a provisional work permit. After they establish the business they must satisfy the requirements of the Business Performance Agreement. They are then nominated for a Permanent Residence, as quoted by the Immigration CA.

Farm Investor is for applicants who intend to open and cultivate a farm in rural regions of Manitoba. They are also initially offered a provisional work visa.

Requirements of Manitoba Business Investor Stream Entrepreneur category:

• At least 3 years of full-time work experience in the last 5 years as an active owner of a business or as senior management role in thriving business
• Minimum proficiency in official languages – NCLC/CLB 5
• Education credentials on par with at least high school certificate in Canada
• No age limit but points for rankings are allocated only for candidates between 49 to 25 years of age
• For business situated in Manitoba Capital region investment of at least $ 250, 000 has to be made and $ 150, 000 if outside Manitoba Capital region
