Canada Parents and Grandparents Program Sponsorship forms available from 2 January 2018

Canada Parents and Grandparents Program will be reopened by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada on 2 January 2018.  The online Sponsorship forms will be available from this day beginning at EST 12 pm said IRCC, as quoted by the CIC News.

The first step in applying for the Canada Parents and Grandparents Program is to submit the Sponsorship form. This program permits eligible Canada PR holders and citizens to sponsor their grandparents or parents to migrate to Canada as PR holders.

Potential sponsors are first randomly selected by the  Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship CanaCanada aftery have submitted their sponsorship forms. The selected applicants are then invited to apply for sponsoring their grandparents or parents. All applicants who have submitted the online forms will be intimated regarding their application being selected or rejected.

Applicants who are successful in receiving the invite by IRCC will have 3 months to furnish a complete application that is inclusive of all required documents. Only those who cater to the eligibility criterions must submit their application forms.

There are certain requirements that must be fulfilled by the applicants who intend to sponsor their grandparents or parents to Canada. The applicants must be:

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Citizen of Canada or PR holder
• Agree to sponsor their grandparents or parents for Canada Permanent Residency
• Satisfy the minimum income requirements
• Agree to support the grandparents or parents and their dependents monetarily
• Submit assessment notices offered by the Revenue Agency in Canada supporting their application for sponsorship
• The relative who is being sponsored and the sponsor must sign an agreement for sponsorship that binds the sponsor to offer monetary support to the person being sponsored for 20 years
