The Government of Canada has offered 3,000 more PR invites to immigrant applicants in the Express entry pool. This was on the draw held on 14 March. It had 456 as the minimum score for Comprehensive Ranking System.
The draw held on 14 March was after a gap of 3 weeks which was a first in 2018. All the earlier draws in this year have been held at a gap of every 3 weeks. The year 2018 has witnessed the numbers of ITAs or Invitations to Apply fluctuating in the range of 3,000 to 2, 750. The scores for CRS were between 442 the lowest so far in 2018 and 456 scores for the latest draw which is the highest so far, as quoted by the CIC News.
The rule of breaking the tie was utilized by IRCC - Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada even on the 14 March draw. The details of the tie-breaker are Time – 02.12.11 UTC; Date – 3 March 2018. This implies that all those candidates whose CRS score was above 456 received the Canada PR invites. Also, those candidates who scored 456 and entered their profile in the Express entry prior to this time obtained the ITAs.
The draw held on 14 March 2018 is the 5th for the year that is the first year of the latest multi-year migration plan of the government of Canada. The immigrant intake target for 2018 is 74, 900. This will be through the 3 economic immigration programs of the Express entry system. These are Canada Experience Class, Federal Skilled Class Trades, and Federal Skilled Class Worker.
It must be noted here that the 2018 Express entry intake target is 3,200 plus over the target of 2017. In the previous year, the CRS score reached a record low at 413 and totally 86, 023 ITAs for Canada PR were offered.
