The data on the spread of the pandemic virus in Canada suggests that the peak of the recent wave is over. The provinces and the territories are modifying their public health advisories to keep up with the changes in the situation. This has led Canada to lighten its border measures.
The easing of the border measures for Canada is effective from February 28, 2022. The entirely vaccinated travelers can enter Canada with reports of an antigen test. Children below 12 years of age and not vaccinated will not have to quarantine themselves.
Jean-Yves Duclos says...
The Minister of Health of Canada, Jean-Yves Duclos, says that the fight against the pandemic is based on science and sound judgment. The announcement of the easing up of the border measures for Canada mirrors progress in the battle against the Omicron variant.
The Canadian Health Minister adds that mandatory testing will be conducted randomly. It will help the Canadian public health authorities figure out the trends in transmission rates of the variants that might cause a problem in the future.
