British Columbia

BC Canada – the British Columbia immigration authorities have held fresh draw inviting overseas graduates and workers. It was held under the Provincial Nominee Program British Columbia. 205 candidates were offered the invitation to apply in this draw.

The minimum score to receive an invite for this draw was 91 points. It included overseas graduates, skilled workers in Express entry, and BC Canada Overseas Graduate Stream. The score for skilled workers in the province was 86 points. Minimum 60 points were needed by semi-skilled and entry-level workers to receive an invitation, as quoted by the Immigration CA.

The earlier BC Canada draw held under PNP offered ITAs to 29 candidates to apply through the Tech Pilot BC PNP. It was held on 25 April 2018. The threshold score for overseas graduates and skilled workers in Express entry was 89 points. Meanwhile, the score for overseas graduate and provincial skilled worker streams was 84 points. No invitations were offered to the semi-skilled and entry-level workers.

British Columbia had launched the Tech Pilot BC PNP in 2017. It was targeted at attracting skilled overseas workers in 32 specific IT occupations. Specific draws targeted at tech workers are being held after 2017 May.

The transformation demonstrates how British Columbia is poised to take advantage from tech workers exploring alternatives to the US under the presidency of Donald Trump. The prestigious nomination from a province offers 600 points under Comprehensive Ranking System. It thus confirms receiving ITA for Canada PR under the Express entry system.

BC PNP declares the scores needed by immigrants to receive an invitation for immigrating to Canada through its programs. The score required by overseas graduates is 30 points lower than that required by skilled workers under both provincial and Express Entry stream.
