The time for the Canadian Federal Skilled Worker visa is fast ticking away. By the end of this year, the entries to the skilled immigration list in Canada would be closed. In another 3 months time this visa would have met its target number of jobs and immigrants.
What is new in this visa?

Though there is no limit on the number of visas that can be issued to people with a job, there are limits on the number of visas that could be issued under one occupation. And going by the number of entries to these visas, there are certain professions that have reached their limit within a short time, like computer programmers and interactive media developers. The FSW program will be replaced by Express Entry system in January. Under this new system applicants will be added to another pool of aspirants who could qualify for one of the programs specified below:
The best candidates in each of these pools are then shortlisted for visas. The issuance of visas under these categories would be faster and could take around 6 months, instead of a year. Those interested in moving to Canada or settling there as immigrants should try their luck soon.
