Canada Overseas students who are studying in Canada for a minimum of two years have diverse options for permanent residency. Canadian employers find overseas students with an earlier Canada experience to be more appealing. Canada is also keen to retain overseas students who have graduated from its educational institutions owing to the exceptional standard of schools in Canada. There are diverse permanent residency choices for overseas students in Canada upon completion of their graduation, quotes Canadian immigration. Canadian Experience Class Overseas students who have pursued studies at a recognized post-secondary institution on a full-time basis for a course of minimum two years duration are eligible for this program. The overseas students must also have secured the educational credentials by completing the program on campus in Canada. Additionally, it is also required that the overseas student must have been being employed for at least one year in the skilled job of full-time nature. Quebec Experience Class Overseas students who have pursued their studies in Quebec and have completed a graduate, postgraduate, or doctoral, vocational or CEGEP along with possessing a proficiency in the French language at the intermediate level are eligible for this program. They even do not need a work experience. Provincial Nomination Programs Overseas students who have completed a post-secondary program in Canada have options in provinces that include Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, Alberta, Newfoundland, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. While some programs mandate that the overseas student also has a job offer or employment experience in the province where the degree was completed, some of them do not require this. The advantage of the provincial nomination programs is that applicants are likely to receive the permanent residency in Canada quicker while compared to other programs.
