You can now extend your visit visa for 60 days in UAE

The UAE visa system now allows people on Tourist and Visit Visa to apply for a 30-day extension twice. Those applying for an extension can do so from within the country. They are not required to exit the country.

There was no provision of an extension earlier. People had to leave the country on the expiration of their Tourist or Visit Visas. Visit Visas normally have a validity of 3 months and Tourist Visas are valid for a month. People were required to exit the country and reapply for a new visa if they wished to return to UAE.

That is a thing of the past now. You can now apply for an extension from within the UAE. You may apply for an extension through a travel agent. Each of the 30-day extension will cost you 600 AED.

However, you may not apply for an extension more than twice, as per The Khaleej Times.

This provision for extension will greatly benefit job seekers in the UAE. They will no longer need to exit the country and reapply for an entry visa once their existing visa expires.

A number of job seekers enter the UAE every month on Tourist and Visit Visas. This new provision has come as a blessing for these people. They will now be spared the travel burden as well as other expenses that they had to earlier bear.
