USA Citizen

The decision to become a US Citizen is one of the most crucial decisions in the life of an individual. If you choose to submit the application for becoming a national of the US, this shows your commitment. This is towards the US and also demonstrates your loyalty to the US Constitution. In return, you receive all the privileges and rights that constitute the US Citizenship.

The US as a nation has a long history for welcoming immigrants from all over the world. It values the contributions of migrants who enrich the nation, as quoted by the USCIS GOV. They also maintain the legacy of the US as a land of opportunity and freedom.

You can become a US Citizen either after birth or at birth if you fulfill certain requirements.

For becoming a US Citizen at birth you must:

  • Have been taken birth in the US or specific outlying possessions or territories of the US and subject to the US jurisdiction; or
  • Has a parent or parents who were nationals of the US at the time of your birth if you were born overseas and fulfill other criterions

For becoming a US Citizen after birth you must:

  • Apply for ‘acquired’ or ‘derived’ citizenship through parents

The Naturalization Test

Majority of the naturalization applicants need to take a test on:

  • Civics – US Government and History
  • English

Citizenship for Members of Military and Dependents

Members and veterans of the armed forces in the US and their dependents may qualify for special provisions for naturalization.
